5 Tips to Overcome Social Media Burnout

If you didn’t read our article about 5 signs that you might be burnt out on Social Media, we highly recommend you go read that one first before you read this one

From our previous article we determined that Social Media Burnout is a real problem that a lot of people are facing that they may not even realize what it is or they are choosing to ignore the problem. We know ignoring the problem will only cause a bigger crash down the road. It’s so important if you or someone you know is facing burnout to hit it head on, which is why we’ve gathered five tips to help you overcome Social Media Burnout.

Take a Break

It’s so important if you are experiencing Social Media Burnout to take a step back from Social Media. Talk with your boss about scheduling a vacation or think about different ways you can contribute at work without being on Social Media for a little bit. It doesn’t sound like an easy thing to do but Social Media can create harmful levels of stress and anxiety which is why stepping back is so important.

Set Boundaries

After you come back refreshed and well rested from your break, it’s important to set boundaries. Set a time limit and schedule for yourself on how much time you are spending on Social Media a day. Really look at how much actual time you need to spend on Social Media to do  your job effectively. Communicate your boundaries with your team.

Turn off Notifications

Constant notifications can be overwhelming and distracting. Truly ask yourself which notifications are necessary to have and turn all of the other ones off.

Delegate

If you have a team spread out duties so that you’re not having to be on Social Media more than necessary. If you’re not comfortable letting go of certain tasks, now might be a good time to evaluate why it is that you are holding on to this task so tightly.

We know it’s not always an easy thing to do but we’re looking out for your mental health! This could also let someone on your team shine!

Don’t Put so Much Pressure on Yourself

Oftentimes we are our own worst enemy. We tend to compare ourselves to what other businesses are doing on Social Media and put pressure on ourselves to keep up with everyone and everything.

The thing about Social Media is that it doesn’t show the full picture, so you may be trying to be exactly like a brand that has 30 people working behind the scenes when you are on a team of three. Just do the best that YOU can and like we always tell our clients at Killer B Digital. Only compare you to you!

Conclusion

We never said doing any of these things were going to be easy but we do believe that they are extremely important. You are not only doing a disservice to yourself but also to your company and team members when you let yourself get super burnt out.

The good news is, now you know what to do and if you need extra support, we’re here for you too! Schedule a call with our CEO, Brian to find out how we can help you and your team!
