Social Media Predictions 2025

3 Predictions for Social Media in 2025

As we know since the beginning of Social Media, it’s ever changing and 2025 is no different. There are a lot of predictions that many Social Media experts are talking about but in this article I’m focusing on the top three that I think will be the most important for you to keep an eye on and incorporate into your strategy this year.

1) Long Form Story Telling

The data shows and no one is denying that short form video will still continue to be the most popular type of content on Social Media this year but Long form story telling is going to be making a comeback.

What do I mean by that? Well, we’ve seen on platforms like Tiktok where people enjoy following along a dramatic saga or longer stories. A Tiktoker named Reesa Tessa went viral for sharing her story “who tf did I marry” which was a 50 part tiktok series. That people couldn’t get enough of.

With that in mind, experts are also predicting that this is going to be the year of Youtube as well. I’m not saying if your brand isn’t on Youtube to jump right into it, it just may be good to at least get your brand name and familiarize yourself with it this year.

2) Staying Relevant on Social Media is going to be harder than ever

I don’t say this lightly and I don’t say this to scare your brand away from Social Media. I simply say this because people on Social Media are ready for brands to level up.

What exactly do I mean by that? Well, they want you to do more than just reply to their comment or post a picture. They want you to truly build a Social community with them and be an active participant. This means really tuning into your audience and asking them and providing them with what they want out of the community.

Any brands not keeping the “social” part of social media, will fall by the wayside.

3) Instagram is going to be an important platform

With the blackout that happened with Tiktok and the ban remaining in limbo, Instagram is choosing to be the platform that many influencers and brands are making a top priority in 2025.

It’s not a surprise though as Instagram is the most popular platform amongst the different generations. Therefore making it a great option to reach audiences regardless of their age.

If Instagram isn’t currently a part of your Social Media strategy, it definitely may be a platform to seriously consider.

Conclusion

Time will tell what actually shakes out this year when it comes to Social Media. As always, if all of this sounds overwhelming or confusing, do not worry. That’s what we’re here for. We’d love for you to schedule a discovery call with our Founder, Brian Curee.
